The Fire Station

We have been increasing our experience of the arts by visiting Sunderland's new culture hub at The Fire Station, a converted fire station that now hosts music, theatre and and the arts. Look at some of the events we have visited with our classes. In true Grange Park style, even our youngest children walked to this amazing venue on the days that they visited this term - both keeping the environment healthy AND keeping ourselves healthy!

I know this story really well because Mrs Graham has read it to us but I’ve never been to a place like this before.

YEAR 2

Our fabulous Year Two pupils went to see Room on the Broom

Year Two had the best time seeing Room on the Broom and the children’s behaviour was impeccable.

We LOVE Room on the Broom!

I haven’t been anywhere like this before; it is like a dream!

YEAR 1

Our amazing Year One pupils went to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

They were fantastic throughout the trip and LOVED the show of one of their favourite books - all of Year One's books this term have a very 'tigery' feel.

We are very proud that such little legs managed to get to and from the Fire Station so brilliantly - well done Year One!

Can we come back another time?

Is this real life? Are those people real on the stage? It is amazing
